Helping Hounds Dog Rescue will soon have a new home! There is much work to be done to make it a safe and usable space. Your support of our The Best Journey Takes You Home Campaign will help us to change the lives of our cherished canine friends, as well as the Central New York community, for years to come. There are no limits to our potential when we take this journey together.
Our New Home
With your help, our new, 9,000 square foot facility will provide a more comfortable stay for our dogs and enable us to expand our services to the community. The new facility will feature:
◦ A strategic and function-minded design from the Cornell Shelter Medicine Program
◦ 50 modern and comfortable kennels, to shelter dogs awaiting their forever homes
◦ Respite Care for dog owners facing financial, medical or personal crisis
◦ Specialty areas like Medical Treatment/Triage Space, Laundry Facilities, a Canine Kitchen, Outdoor Kennels & Play Yards, and more
◦ And revenue-generating programming to help us become more self-sustaining, including:
Dog Training and Socialization Classes
Humane Education Programs to teach children to be better caretakers of companion animals

How to Help: There’s an option for everyone!
Gifts of Cash
The easiest and most direct way of supporting Helping Hounds Dog Rescue is with a gift of cash!
Gifts of Stock
Avoid capital gains taxes through a gift of highly appreciated stock, while taking a full value deduction on your tax returns. We recommend discussing this option with a tax or financial professional.
Schedule a Monthly Donation
Recognizing that many caring people may not have the capacity to make a sizable gift at any one time, HHDR can accept smaller, monthly amounts through our Hound Haulers program. Focused on offsetting the $150/mo per dog expense associated with medicating and transporting out-of-state dogs to their temporary home here at HHDR, your smaller monthly have a big impact on their freedom ride!
Many corporate employer will match their employees' gift to a 501(c)3 non-profit. If your company does, simply request their matching gift form and send it to us: We'll take care of the rest!
